TYPES OF SERVICES
Finding the right aircraft at the right price isn’t always as simple as it looks. Planes are complicated machines, and understanding how to properly assess their true condition requires an experienced approach to avoid major (read expensive) maintenance headaches down the road.
At Aeronautical Systems, our team of experienced technicians kick off the process by developing detailed maintenance profiles on every candidate aircraft.
Aeronautical Systems not only has the expertise to help you acquire the best aircraft to suit your needs but also the operational infrastructure to help you manage it. What does that mean?
A “FULL” appraisal is one that includes an inspection of the aircraft and a review of its historical maintenance records. This inspection is aimed solely at determining the overall condition of the aircraft and its records to support the value opinions of the appraiser. An appraisal is not a pre-purchase inspection and would not, for example, include an opening of inspection panels on the aircraft or a detailed review of all historical maintenance record archives.
A desktop appraisal assignment is one where there is no inspection of the aircraft nor review of any of its associated historical records. This type of appraisal relies on information provided by the client or other outside sources and includes a wider range of assumptions. This type of appraisal is associated with determining an opinion of Retrospective, Current or Prospective Fair Market Value and can include Hypothetical assumptions where appropriate.
A business aircraft can experience damage for many different reasons ranging from a simple dent resulting from hangar rash to a major mishap requiring extensive restoration. Some repairs require only replacement of specific components while others necessitate extensive labor and possible engineering expertise to make the aircraft airworthy again. Major repairs are common, frequently negatively impacting the value of an asset, both present day and in the future.
These appraisals are generally performed as desktops and can include hypothetical assumptions where appropriate. Our firm employs the historical database approach for tracking valuation trends over time. The tracking of these trend analyses is used for forecasting future values to a reliable level of accuracy. We closely examine value trends, supply and demand analyses, days on market, saturation levels and economic and statistical modeling. We study a wide range of marketplace trade intelligence to support our appraisal and forecasting process in order to accurately quantify aircraft pricing and availability. In fact, our exclusive database contains over 1,000 model-series aircraft spanning over 30 years of detailed market research data.
If your fractional aircraft ownership contract is approaching its scheduled termination date, we offer many services specifically designed to benefit you.
Our firm has helped many fractional owners make informed decisions relative to acquisitions, share changes (trade ups or downs), redemption strategies, dispute resolution and aircraft valuations. A simple, but a comprehensive desktop appraisal will provide much-needed information, not least – peace of mind.
