A business aircraft can experience damage for many different reasons ranging from a simple dent resulting from hangar rash to a major mishap requiring extensive restoration. Some repairs require only replacement of specific components while others necessitate extensive labor and possible engineering expertise to make the aircraft airworthy again.  Major repairs are common, frequently negatively impacting the value of an asset, both present day and in the future.

The method and type of repair are one of the many determining factors as to the degree of the negative impact to value or what we term as “Diminution of Value”.  There are various ways to help reduce this negative value impact by contacting ASI early in the decision-making process, so we can provide technical consultation relating to the proposed repairing entity and their suggested repair scheme.  This appraisal type is generally associated with one that requires a physical inspection and at least a brief overview of the associated historical and repair records.
